Win or Lose
Pixar's first original series follows eight characters connected to a middle-school co-ed softball team in the week before their championship game, with each episode telling the same story from a different person's point of view. The animation is inventive and the humor is real, but several episodes dig into genuinely adult territory — parental divorce, a child taking on caregiving responsibilities, social media obsession, and a teen encountering peer pressure to steal — making this a richer watch for older kids than for little ones.
Great for kids around 8 and up who enjoy character-driven stories with some emotional weight; younger children can watch with a grown-up nearby to talk through the heavier moments.
Episodes to know about
Laurie's anxiety literally takes the form of a growing sentient sweat blob called Sweaty that follows her around and voices her self-doubt; visually unusual but played warmly, not frighteningly.
Laurie's pressure to impress her dad and get a hit in the championship is rendered with real emotional stakes; one reviewer noted their 10-year-old felt genuinely anxious watching her spiral.
Frank is shown reeling from a hard breakup and tentatively re-entering the dating world, including a brief online-dating scene and a date; nothing beyond TV-PG.
