The Pout-Pout Fish
A grumpy, reclusive fish (voiced by Nick Offerman) and a bouncy young sea dragon named Pip are accidentally left homeless and must quest across the ocean to find a legendary wish-granting fish before a villainous cuttlefish beats them to it. The story is warm and colorful with a solid friendship-and-kindness message, but it runs considerably more intense than the gentle board book it is based on, with chase sequences, predator threats, and a few darker moments that may surprise families expecting something as quiet as the original.
Confident viewers around 5 and up are the sweet spot; sensitive or very young kids who love the book may need a preview first.

Both homes are destroyed in quick succession, leaving the main characters homeless; the shipwreck collapse is played dramatically and may upset sensitive young viewers.
Three dolphins turn hostile and pursue Mr. Fish and Pip, baring razor-sharp teeth and slicing through kelp; includes jump scares and a sustained chase, though no one is eaten.
The dolphins' sudden shift from rude to predatory, combined with close-up teeth shots and jump-scare audio, is the most startling moment in the film.
