The Jungle Book

Movie · 1967

A warm, jazzy Disney classic following orphaned Mowgli and his animal friends through the jungle, full of singable songs and lovable characters. There are a handful of genuinely scary moments involving the villain tiger Shere Khan and the hypnotic snake Kaa, plus outdated cultural caricatures that Disney itself now flags with a content advisory on streaming.

Most comfortable from about age 5, with a parent nearby for the snake and final battle scenes; sensitive viewers may want to wait until 6 or 7.
