The Bad Guys 2
This DreamWorks animated sequel (rated PG, in theaters August 1, 2025) follows the reformed Bad Guys as they get pulled back into one last heist — think Ocean's 11 with cartoon animals and a space-magnet climax. The comedy tone stays breezy throughout, but the action is a step up from the first film, with a few villains and intense set pieces that could startle younger kids.
Great for kids 6 and up who enjoyed the first Bad Guys; sensitive viewers under 6 may want a preview from a grown-up first.

The Bad Guys struggle with unemployment and social rejection after going straight; the tone is downbeat before the plot kicks in, and some younger kids may find the theme of being unwanted quietly sad.
A fast-paced robbery involves a shark tackling a guard, a wolf in a wingsuit, a snake cutting glass, and a confetti explosion — lively and comic but loud and quick-cut.
Kitty Kat (a large puma with sharp claws) and the intimidating pig villain are introduced with menacing visuals; Marmalade the guinea pig laughs manically in a brief cameo.
