Teletubbies
A dreamy, slow-paced BBC series built for babies and toddlers, featuring four colorful characters who live in a soft, sunlit landscape and model simple friendship through hugs, giggles, and repetition. Nearly all episodes are entirely gentle, with one infamous 'Lion and Bear' sketch that was pulled from air for being unexpectedly unsettling for very young viewers.
Babies and toddlers from around age 1, with a sweet spot of roughly 1 to 3 years old.
Episodes to know about
The 'See-Saw' episode contains the 'Lion and Bear' sketch: two wooden puppet characters with uncanny eyes and stilted motion, delivered in scary voices with menacing music, that caused the Teletubbies themselves to hide in fear. This sketch was banned from broadcast in the UK and internationally for being too distressing for the toddler audience it was aimed at; a re-edited, softer version was later produced by the BBC.
