Supergirl
This dark, Mad Max-flavored sci-fi adventure follows a trauma-scarred Kara Zor-El and a revenge-driven teen as they pursue a ruthless villain across the galaxy. It carries strong violence, a sustained alcohol abuse arc, and a human-trafficking subplot that is significantly more intense than the superhero label suggests.
Best suited for teens 14 and up, or mature 13-year-olds watched alongside a parent who can talk through the heavier themes.

Kara's extended drinking binge is introduced immediately: she is shown drunk, vomiting, and surrounded by empty bottles; this framing of alcohol abuse as a coping mechanism runs through roughly the first third of the film.
Krem and his brigands attack Ruthye's home: a young man is hit in the back with a thrown axe, her mother is slammed into a wall and killed, and her father is stabbed through the abdomen and lifted off the floor while Ruthye watches.
Ruthye witnesses her entire family's murder, establishing the film's revenge premise and its heaviest emotional content.
