Seaper Powers: The Rescue
This US animated family film, released in theaters May 2026, is the third entry in the wholesome Seaper Powers series and follows Emma as she races to find a cure for a mysterious disease threatening her starfish friend Steve and all starfish. The franchise has a strong track record of G-rated, Dove-approved storytelling built around friendship, ocean conservation, and gentle adventure, and nothing in the documented premise or franchise pattern suggests any departure from that mold.
A lovely pick for children roughly 3 and up, especially little ones who love ocean animals, friendship stories, and sing-along songs.

Emma is summoned urgently because Steve and all starfish are dying from a mysterious disease; the setup establishes the life-or-death stakes that drive the whole story.
Steve the Starfish is visibly ill and in danger for much of the runtime; sensitive children who are attached to animal characters may find his declining condition sad or worrying.
The race to find the cure reaches its peak before resolution; the 'will they make it in time' tension is the most emotionally charged stretch of the film.
