Scooby-Doo

Movie · 2002

This live-action adaptation brings Mystery Inc. to Spooky Island, where real soul-stealing monsters replace the usual costumed villains, making it noticeably scarier and cruder than the classic cartoon. The humor skews older than the franchise's youngest fans, with bodily-function gags, body-swap innuendo, and subtle drug-culture winks layered throughout.

Most comfortable for kids around 8 and up; sensitive or very young children may find the monster imagery and soul-possession sequences genuinely frightening.

Smoke billows out of the van while a song associated with marijuana plays; played as a winking adult joke that older kids may pick up on.
