Peter Rabbit
This live-action/CGI comedy gives Beatrix Potter's beloved bunny a high-energy, slapstick makeover with plenty of laughs, but it's notably more intense and mean-spirited than the gentle picture books. The conflict between Peter and the new farmer escalates into explosions, electrocutions, and an allergy-attack scene that several family reviewers flagged as a concern to discuss.
Comfortably suits most kids 6 and up; sensitive or very young children may find the on-screen death, peril, and escalating slapstick upsetting.

A brief flashback implies Peter's father was caught by Old Mr. McGregor and turned into a pie; not graphic, but the concept may unsettle young children.
Old Mr. McGregor collapses on screen from a heart attack and dies; his eyes remain open and a character pokes him to confirm he is dead.
The farmer deliberately feeds blackberries to a character he knows is severely allergic, causing anaphylactic shock requiring an EpiPen; Peter is shown dismissing food allergies beforehand, which is worth a conversation with kids.
