Not My Dog
A pleasantly low-key adventure about 12-year-old Bridget, a phone-glued tween who finds her afternoon errand hijacked by a stray German Shepherd named Nudge. The film is warm and safe, with its only real edge coming from mild verbal sparring, slapstick chase scenes, and a brief handful of grown-up jokes that will sail over younger heads.
A great pick for families with kids roughly 6 and up, especially dog lovers and tweens who might see a bit of themselves in Bridget.

A neighbor character is introduced who repeatedly frames the stray dog as a dangerous 'beast' and threatens to have it 'destroyed'; this verbal threat recurs across multiple scenes and may worry dog-loving younger viewers.
An animal control officer chases the dog through town with threatening dialogue; the chase is played for slapstick energy but the threat of capture is real within the story.
A teen boy taunts the dog with a stick; Bridget intervenes physically, shoving him several times to make him stop.
