Lilo & Stitch
This live-action remake follows six-year-old Lilo and her teenage sister Nani as they navigate life after losing their parents, finding unexpected family in a chaotic alien named Stitch. The heart is warm and the humor is plentiful, but the film packs in more peril, alien-gun action, and emotional weight than the animated original.
Comfortably suits most kids 6 and up; sensitive children or those who startle easily may do better around age 7–8 with a grown-up nearby.

Robots on a Federation spaceship are trained to shoot Stitch on sight; the frantic escape involves laser fire in every direction, which sets a frenetic and slightly frightening tone right from the start.
The spaceship escape sequence is loud, with constant laser gunfire, explosions, and crashing sounds.
Multiple early conversations establish that Lilo and Nani's parents died in an accident, and a social worker's ongoing threat to remove Lilo from Nani's care adds sustained emotional tension.
