In Your Dreams
A colorful Netflix animated adventure in which two siblings enter the dream world to find the Sandman and stop their parents from separating. The imaginative fun is real, but several nightmare sequences and the central theme of a family breaking apart carry genuine emotional weight for younger viewers.
Best enjoyed by kids 8 and up, or with a patient grown-up beside younger children who may find the scary dreams or family-stress themes a lot to take in.

Stevie overhears her parents arguing about money and a potential move; the possibility of a divorce is raised explicitly and sets the emotional stakes for the whole film.
The siblings must pass through a series of nightmares to reach the Sandman; these include a threatening grandma figure, mouldy zombie-food characters, giant fanged sausage monsters, and whack-a-mole toys that beat the children to 'wake' them.
The children face the stated threat of execution-style dream deaths and the genuine possibility of never waking up or returning home; tension is sustained across multiple scenes.
