Hotel Transylvania
A warm, funny monster comedy about an overprotective Dracula who must learn to let his daughter Mavis grow up when a human backpacker stumbles into their hidden hotel. The scares are almost entirely played for laughs, but a handful of jump-scare moments and a brief sad backstory about Mavis's late mother are worth knowing about ahead of time.
Most comfortable for children 6 and up; very sensitive or younger children may need a grown-up alongside for a few brief moments.

A prologue shows a mob burning Dracula's home and a woman's limp hand on the floor, establishing that Mavis's mother died; kept brief and never gory but may prompt questions.
Hotel staff disguised as angry torch-wielding humans surround Mavis in a jump-scare setup; zombies then catch fire and their heads fall off harmlessly.
Dracula's sudden red-eyed roar appears several times as a comedic jump scare with a loud sound effect and extreme close-up.
