Hilda

TV show · 2018

Hilda is a beautifully animated Netflix series following a fearless, blue-haired girl who befriends elves, trolls, giants, and other folklore creatures in and around the Scandinavian-inspired city of Trolberg. This report covers all three seasons (2018–2023) plus the feature-length movie Hilda and the Mountain King; the tone stays warm and wonder-filled throughout, but the later seasons and finale movie step up the stakes and occasional creepiness compared to the gentler early episodes.

Most comfortable for ages 7 and up; confident 6-year-olds who enjoy Miyazaki-style adventure will likely be fine, while sensitive kids under 7 may want a parent nearby for the spookier episodes.
