Dragon Tales
This report covers the full series (Seasons 1–3, 1999–2005). Dragon Tales is a warm, low-key PBS Kids adventure in which siblings Emmy and Max visit a magical Dragon Land full of kind dragon friends, facing everyday preschool challenges like fear of the dark, sibling squabbles, and trying new things. There is essentially nothing objectionable across the entire run.
A lovely fit for children ages 2 and up, especially preschoolers who enjoy fantasy and friendship stories.
Episodes to know about
The Forest of Darkness segment introduces a spooky dark forest setting; Ord's fear of the dark is the focus, resolved reassuringly by episode's end.
Max accidentally releases a small magical creature called a Fury that grows bigger when anyone feels angry; the situation is brief and non-threatening.
Ord has a nightmare that keeps everyone awake; children prone to bedtime anxiety may want to talk about it afterward.
