Balto

Movie · 1995

This G-rated animated adventure follows Balto, a half-wolf sled dog, on a life-or-death mission to deliver diphtheria medicine to the children of Nome, Alaska. It carries warm themes of courage, friendship, and self-acceptance, but runs more serious and tense than a typical animated film for toddlers.

Most comfortable for kids around 6 and up; confident 5-year-olds with a calm temperament will likely handle it fine with a grown-up nearby.
